Invokana (canagliflozin), manufactured by Janssen Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, is used to control high blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. The drug was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2013. Invokana refers to a class of medicines known as the sodium glucose transporter 2 (SGLT2).
