US Food & Drug Administration reported in May 2015 that a type 2 medication known as SGLT2 inhibited kidney function and might lead to ketoacidosis. Ketoacidosis is a condition where the body produces abnormal levels of blood acid, and if it is not treated, it can lead to death or diabetic coma. The food and drug agency warned patients against using Farxiga. Farxiga Farxiga is a drug that is used to control blood sugar levels in diabetic patients. It is used for type 2 diabetic patients with the task of lowering A1C. This drug functions by helping the kidneys remove glucose from the blood. Unlike other diabetic drugs which work on insulin production, Farxiga stops kidney from absorbing sugar back. The known side effects of using Farxiga drug include heart attack, kidney failure, high potassium levels and diabetic ketoacidosis. Ketoacidosis is a serious medical condition which causes high level of blood acids in the body. This medical condition usually happens when the body fa
