Do You Want to file a lawsuit for the side effects of farxiga?

US Food & Drug Administration reported in May 2015 that a type 2 medication known as SGLT2 inhibited kidney function and might lead to ketoacidosis. Ketoacidosis is a condition where the body produces abnormal levels of blood acid, and if it is not treated, it can lead to death or diabetic coma. The food and drug agency warned patients against using Farxiga.

Farxiga

Farxiga is a drug that is used to control blood sugar levels in diabetic patients. It is used for type 2 diabetic patients with the task of lowering A1C. This drug functions by helping the kidneys remove glucose from the blood. Unlike other diabetic drugs which work on insulin production, Farxiga stops kidney from absorbing sugar back. The known side effects of using Farxiga drug include heart attack, kidney failure, high potassium levels and diabetic ketoacidosis. Ketoacidosis is a serious medical condition which causes high level of blood acids in the body. This medical condition usually happens when the body fails to produce enough insulin.

FDA asked patients to watch out for ketoacidosis symptoms like; abdominal pain, difficulty in breathing, vomiting and nausea, drowsiness, excessive fatigue and confusion. Following widespread reports that Farxiga prescribed patients almost suffered fatal deaths as a result of using the SGLT2 inhibitor drug, FDA reported it would monitor adverse reports from Farxiga patients and consider taking legal action against the drug manufacturers.

According to American Diabetes Association, 29.1 million people living in America had diabetes in 2012. In March 2013, FDA approved the use of Farxiga drugs to treat diabetic patients, but asked manufacturers to include diabetic ketoacidosis' to the label warning patients. Farxiga manufacturers claimed the drug could help control glucose levels in Type 2 diabetic patients. In 2015, the FDA warned diabetic patients that the use of Farxiga could transform urinary tract infection into potentially fatal kidney infections. This is because Farxiga can cause severe infections ones it gets into the bloodstream or spreads to the kidney. As a result, there have been reports of patients requiring dialysis for renal failure caused by taking Farxiga drug. In 2016, the agency released a report showing severe pancreatitis (inflammation of pancreas) in patients using Farxiga drug.

In the United States, there is over 100 lawsuits against Farxiga manufacturers, which are awaiting trial in courts. Affected patients argue that Farxiga manufacturers failed to warn people against the use of the drug. This resulted in people suffering stroke, heart disease and death.
